- 24 pretzel rods
- 1 pkg (12 oz) light blue candy melts
- 24 Goldfish Crackers
✅ INSTRUCTIONS
- Place blue candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high power for 1 minute. Stir well. Microwave in 30-second increments until candies are melted and smooth. Pour melted candy into a tall glass.
- One at a time, dip each pretzel into the melted candy leaving the end of the pretzel bare. Allow the excess candy to drip back into the glass. Place the pretzel onto a sheet of waxed paper. Place a Goldfish cracker 1-2 inches from the coated end of the pretzel rod.
- Allow to cool and dry completely, about 15 minutes.

- You can use light blue candy melts or royal blue candy melts depending on the look you're trying to achieve.

Pretzel rods are the perfect size and shape to hold your Goldfish crackers.
Using salted pretzel rods will add a salty and sweet contrast to this easy snack.
This recipe is so forgiving that you can even use broken pretzel rods.
I prefer the Synder’s of Hanover pretzel rods, but any variety will work just fine.
If you have a hard time finding the pretzel rods, you can find them on Amazon.
This is one of those recipes that are great to make ahead of time.
You can dip the pretzels in the melted candy melts and put the goldfish on them then store them in a zip-top baggie until time for your party.
We coated our pretzels with bright light blue candy melts rather than real white chocolate.
Candy melts are much simpler to deal with and get the right color when dipping snacks and treats.
Because white chocolate is frequently a cream shade rather than pure white, whatever color you add will be blended with cream.
I like to use pre-colored candy melts unless I need a certain color that is not commercially available.
Candy melts are sold on Amazon, at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, and a number of big-box stores.
They come in nearly every other hue and a range of blue tints.
If you’re going to color your own candy melts or almond bark, it’s important to use gel food coloring.
When dipping tall treats like pretzels, use this easy decorating hack.
Melt your candy coating according to the package directions in a normal bowl.
Next, pour the melted candy coating into a tall glass that is roughly the same length as your pretzel rods.
Finally, dip the pretzels into the glass to coat them with the candy coating.
Allow the excess candy to drip back into the glass before placing the pretzel on a sheet of waxed paper to cool and harden.
If you don’t have a tall glass, you can use a regular kitchen spoon to spoon the melted candy over the pretzels.
Be sure to leave 1-2 inches of the pretzel bare so that your guests will have something to hold onto without getting their fingers messy.
