KEY TO SUCCESS #1 – START WITH EVENLY SIZED FILLETS
One key to perfectly cooked Salmon is to use evenly sized Salmon fillets.
Salmon fillets that are about the same size will cook in the same amount of time.
You’ll want to look for fillets that are about 1 – 1 1/2 inches thick.
I prefer to use Salmon with the skin on, but skinless salmon will work just as well.
The reason I like to use salmon with the skin on is that it is easier to remove from the Air Fryer basket.
I’m simple like that.
While the Air Fryer is touted as an oil-free cooking method, I would suggest using a little oil to make sure the salmon doesn’t stick to the Air Fryer basket.
You can either rub a bit of oil on both sides of your salmon fillet or I use a reuseable spray bottle that I keep filled with olive oil.
These are the non-aerosol spray bottles that I use and they work great.
I DO NOT recommend using Pam or a cooking spray like Pam because they tend to create a sticky residue on the non-stick Air Fryer basket.
After cooking your Air Fryer Salmon for 8 minutes, check it with a fork to make sure it’s flaky and fully cooked. A safe internal temperature for salmon is 145 degrees F.
Make sure you have a good quality meat thermometer so that you can test the internal temperature of your meats.
I prefer a digital instant-read thermometer but there are many varieties out there.
It’s a healthy and versatile meal for any day of the week. You don’t have to wait for a special occasion.
