Deviled Eggs

I should have titled this recipe “Mike’s Deviled Eggs” because that’s how they’re known in our family.

We show up to any family dinner and the first thing we hear is “Did Mike bring his Deviled Eggs?”

Yes, yes, Mike did bring his eggs.

But we like to share secrets here on the blog so here are the secrets to Mike’s Deviled Eggs.
Deviled Eggs

KEY TO SUCCESS #1 – MAKE PERFECT-PEEL EGGS
I feel like I’ve tried everything over the years to get eggs to peel easily – the vinegar trick, the salt hack, the baking soda surprise.

Nothing has done the trick until I tried to make hard-boiled eggs in my Instant Pot.

I shared the recipe for Instant Pot Hard-Boiled Eggs in a recent blog post.

In the same post, I dish on how to get the yolks perfectly centered in a hard-boiled egg. Click here to read all about it.

KEY TO SUCCESS #2 – GET THAT TANGY ZIP OF MIRACLE WHIP
A little Miracle Whip salad dressing adds a really nice tangy zip to these Deviled Eggs.

Miracle Whip is also perfect for making the filling nice and creamy.

Along with the Miracle Whip, we’ll add salt, pepper, sugar, and mustard along with a little Tabasco hot sauce.

I personally like my Deviled Eggs a little kicked up, but for most parties, I try to tone things down.
Deviled Eggs

KEY TO SUCCESS #3 – LET’S KEEP IT REAL … REAL SMOOTH
One of the biggest things with Deviled Eggs is to stir the filling until it’s really smooth and creamy.

You can’t stir it too much.

Sometimes it takes a bit of elbow grease to get those egg yolks broken down into a super smooth filling, but it’s so worth it.

Stirring the egg yolks with the Miracle Whip first will help get things smoothed out in a hurry.
Deviled Eggs

You can totally go fancy and spoon your filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip and make pretty swirls with your filling.

Or you can just use a spoon to gently fill the egg halves.

If you’re interested in a tutorial on how to pipe the filling into the egg halves, let me know in the comments.

Maybe I can make a video for you guys or something.
