My family loves hamburgers, but I was often reluctant to make them at home because the grease would get all over the kitchen when I would cook the hamburgers in a skillet on the stovetop.
The Air Fryer eliminates all the hassles of making hamburgers at home.
I finally found a solution!
Hamburgers from the Air Fryer (this one is the best seller on Amazon right now) taste great and there’s virtually no mess.
And I can finally cook hamburgers in the kitchen without setting off every smoke detector in the whole house.
It’s a miracle!
When I make hamburgers, I like to use 93% lean ground beef when I’m making hamburgers at home.
I know that they say the flavor’s in the fat but I really don’t want to eat the fat.
Even with 93% lean meat, you’ll get plenty of flavor and the burgers will still be juicy without being greasy.
Just look at the photo below with the hamburger patties in the Air Fryer basket.
They are plenty juicy and they were really delicious.
I have a little trick for forming perfectly round hamburger patties and it’s this little gadget right here – a hamburger patty mold/press.
I take 1/4 pound of ground beef and press it evenly into the mold with my hand (or a piece of waxed paper).
Then I take the press and press it down to make those nice “grill” marks on the top of the burger.
Then the fun part – I slap the mold face-down onto a piece of waxed paper on the cabinet to release the perfect patty.
It works perfectly every time.
You may be thinking that 1/4 pound of beef doesn’t sound like much but since you’re using lean ground beef you don’t get as much shrinkage due to fat loss during the cooking process.
Tip! Don’t forget to season your meat on both sides!
For a quarter-pound burger using lean ground beef, the cook time for a well-done burger in my Air Fryer is 13 minutes.
I suggest setting the timer for 10 minutes then checking to see if the burgers are done to your liking.
It’s not absolutely necessary to flip the hamburger patties after 10 minutes, but I suggest it.
A CHEESY TIP
After I cooked our burgers, I put a slice of cheese on top of each hamburger patty then slid the basket back into the Air Fryer for a minute to melt the cheese.
When I opened the Air Fryer again, the cheese slices had blown off the hamburger patties and into the bottom of the basket.
I’d forgotten about the powerful fan that circulates the hot air.
The trick is to turn the Air Fryer OFF then slide the basket back into the Air Fryer for a minute or two.
The Air Fryer will still be warm enough to melt the cheese but the cheese will not fly off.
Tip! Melt the cheese on your burger by sliding the basket back into the Air Fryer with the appliance turned OFF.
Hey, this is good!
