We love our bread and this recipe is near the top of the list.
It’s quick and easy and really brings a meal together.
Your bread loaf for this cheesy bread recipe should be a rounded and firmer like sourdough.
You don’t want a super soft loaf of bred for this cheesy bread loaf because it will not hold up well with all the cheese on top.
My grocery store had bake-at-home bread boules and they were perfect.
Mine was 9 ounces and it fit perfectly in my air fryer.
I probably could have gotten a 10 or 12-ounce loaf to fit as well.
And I suggest a round loaf, but you could use an oblong bread loaf if it fits in your air fryer.
In fact, if you have an air fryer oven, a longer bread loaf might fit better.
We’re going to slice our bread loaf so that we can stuff it with a whole lot of cheesy goodness.
Use a sharp serrated knife to slice through the bread loaf.
Go all the way down to about 1/2-inch from the bottom of the bread.
Be careful not to slice all the way through bread so that your garlic butter and cheese will stay inside.
Make 4-5 slices across the bread loaf then turn it 90 degrees and make 3-4 more slits.
This will result in a grid pattern on top of the bread that will be perfect for stuffing with plenty of cheese.
And when it’s time to enjoy your delicious cheesy bread, you will have perfect squares of bread to devour.
Now that you’ve got the bread sliced, it’s time to stuff it and top it.
First, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chives in a small bowl.
Next, use a pastry brush or a spoon to coat the top of the loaf and inside the slits with garlic butter.
Then stuff the slits with thin slices of brie cheese.
Brie is a soft cheese so you may not end up with perfect little slices. Don’t stress about this.
As long as you get the cheese into the slits in the bread, you’re golden.
Finally, top the bread with freshly shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
You can press the shredded cheese into the slits if you have room. Or just leave it on top.
When it cooks, it will melt all golden brown and ooey gooey.
How good does that melted cheese look in the photo below?
