You can use your creativity to put these together.
They do not have to be all the same. Some can have a tilted hat.
Others can have a little squished nose.
Make them your own.
The first step to making these Santa Claus Cookies is to give Santa a nice big fluffy beard.
Dip one end of the Nutter Butter cookie into the melted almond bark so that nearly half of the cookie is covered.
The white almond bark for the beard covers more of the cookie than the almond bark for the hat.
The beard should take up almost the bottom half of the Nutter Butter cookie.
Use the photo below as a guide to making your Santa Claus Cookie.
I like to do all my dipping in one step.
To get ready for this, put your red sanding sugar into a small cup that is deep enough for you to dip Santa’s hat into.
After you dip Santa’s beard into the almond bark, turn the cookie over and immediately dip Santa’s hat.
Next, dip Santa’s hat into the red sanding sugar.
Be sure to leave a little bit of the almond bark poking out for the fluff on the brim of Santa’s hat.
Once all the dipping is done, place the Santa cookie onto a sheet of waxed paper to dry and harden.
Take one white chocolate chip and use a wooden skewer to dab some almond bark on to it.
Press the white chocolate to one side of Santa’s hat for the pompom ball.
I did some of my Santa hats front and center, and that works too.
You can place Santa’s hat to the side if you want a different look.
Make each Santa different if you want.
There are no rules in Santa Cookie making.
Perfection is a myth and the main thing is to have fun with it. Don’t forget that.
With the hat and the beard in place, it’s time to add in Santa’s handsome face.
Use a skewer to dab a little almond bark on the back of two mini chocolate chips then place it onto the Nutter Butter cookie for Santa’s eyes.
I like to add enough almond bark so that there is a ring of white around the bottom of the chocolate chip to represent the white of Santa’s eyes.
But you don’t have to. You can make every Santa unique.
Put a dab of almond bark on the back of a Red Hot candy for Santa’s nose.
You could use a red M&M instead of the Red Hot.
Sometimes the Red Hot candy can be hard to find.
If you can’t find them at your local grocery store or big box store, they are available on Amazon.com.
Have fun with this little project! Please, please, please show us your Santa cookies on social media so that we can ooh and ahh over them with you.
